Flow Monitoring the Private Sector Through Cleanouts

by Gary Beck with GBA

Flow monitoring the private sector through laterals is normally not conducted due to the inherent difficulties of monitoring a small pipe and low flows.  Also, the contribution of I/I during a flow monitoring project is usually a guess.  This presentation demonstrates a method to measure private laterals and provides data to identify I/I contributed by the private sector.

Gary is currently the group Leader of the Water Environment Group at George Butler Associates. He has worked for GBA the last 30 years and specializes in sanitary sewer evaluations including flow monitoring, I/I investigations, master planning and rehabilitation design.  Gary has provided many presentations, articles and has authored manuals regarding I/I management.  Gary enjoys all sports but primarily focuses on golf and spending time with family and friends.
