Presenters: City of Omaha Public Works: Austin Rowser, PE, City Engineer; Krista Wassenaar, PE, Design Division Manager; Jason Hughes, Construction Plan Reviewer
Krista Wassenaar is the Design Engineer and Division Manager for the City of Omaha Public Works. Krista has a transportation background with more than 15 years of experience. Krista's primary focus on any project is to deliver safe and reliable infrastructure to all users. When Krista is not engineering, she loves to garden, travel, ride her bike, and practice her photography skills.
Jason Hughes is the Construction Plan Reviewer for the City of Omaha Public Works Department. Jason has more than 20 years of experience working on transportation and environmental projects within the Omaha area. Jason’s goal is to ensure we are providing consistent, accurate, and constructible plan sets that align with our standard specifications, plates, and design manuals. Jason currently enjoys playing with his two young children and new puppy.
Presentation:
The presentation will cover the updates to the City of Omaha Standard Specifications for use in Public Works Construction 2024. The presenters will share the process of facilitating the update, implementation & adoption along with highlighting the significant changes in the specifications and standard plates.
